    Position Summary:

     

    The President/Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Norwalk Chamber provides strategic leadership and direction in alignment with the Chamber's mission and goals. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President/CEO oversees all Chamber operations and serves as the primary spokesperson for the organization.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy in collaboration with the Board of Directors to advance the Chamber's mission and objectives.

    • Enhance membership value and retention through the delivery of high-quality services and benefits.

    • Facilitate Board and Executive Committee meetings, as well as oversee various committees.

    • Cultivate positive relationships with government, business, and community stakeholders to support pro-business initiatives and economic growth.

    • Advocate for pro-business policies and legislative efforts at the local, state, and federal levels.

    • Communicate with members on pertinent business-related issues and developments.

    • Represent the Chamber at relevant civic, cultural, and business events.

    • Collaborate with the Director of Membership and other staff to develop and execute a multitude of revenue-generating chamber events and programs.

    • Develop and manage annual budgets and financial strategies to ensure the Chamber's financial sustainability.

    • Demonstrated revenue generation capabilities.

    • Financial acumen and budgeting expertise.

    • Talent development and retention capabilities specifically as it relates to the Director of Membership.

    • Change management proficiency.

     

    Education and Experience:

     

    • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.

    • Minimum of 5 years of senior executive experience in corporate, public sector, or nonprofit management.

    • Knowledge of the Norwalk or Fairfield County business community preferred.

    • Experience reporting to a Board of Directors.

    • Proven track record in business or economic development, sales, or fundraising.

     

    Compensation:

     

    A competitive salary commensurate with experience and a comprehensive benefits package will be offered to the selected candidate.
