Chair Announces Change at Helm of the Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce

(Berlin, Vermont   June 17, 2019)  Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce Board Chair Joseph L. Choquette III, president of Mark III Public Affairs LLC, announced today that Chamber President and CEO William D. Moore will be leaving the position in mid-July for another job.

“With regret I announce that Bill Moore has accepted a new position as president of the Greater New Britain (Connecticut) Chamber of Commerce,” Choquette said.

“Bill has been the president of the Central Vermont Chamber for three and a half years and he has served us well. During his tenure he has put a positive face on the organization, worked well with other business organizations, modernized our accounting systems, helped to create the Central Vermont Young Professionals group, helped us to craft and implement the current strategic plan and provided effective guidance to the board and officers regarding their roles and responsibilities.

“Bill and his wife Maureen have also become integral members of the Central Vermont professional and business community,” he said. “But they are from this area of Connecticut and this move will enable them to be closer to their families. They will be greatly missed, and we wish them well.”

Choquette added that an interim president is expected to be appointed shortly and the Central Vermont Chamber will undertake a wide search to fill the position. Moore’s last day at the chamber will be July 12.

The Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce is the largest business organization representing businesses throughout Washington and Orange Counties.
