Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce Annual St. Patrick's Day Breakfast, recognizing an individual who, through personal service and dedication, has enhanced the life of those who live, work and visit Central Vermont.
This year's honoree is Ken Squier, owener of Radio Vermont Group, including his family-owned since 1935 WDEV Radio. In addition to his career in broadcasting which he began at age 14, Ken is legendary in the motor sports arena. He founded Thunder Road International Speed Bowl in 1961, was the Public Address Announcer for the Daytona International Speedway, and brought the Daytona 500 Race to live TV in 1979 and won an Emmy for his broadcast of the race for CBS . In January, Ken was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
